Antique French Faded Floral Birds Roses Textile 19th C Cottage Shabby Chic! This pattern is so wonderful! The design depicts sweet little birds in flight and perched on branches of lilacs amongst blossoms, roses with rosebuds and foliage in the most delicious subtle and gently faded vivid hues.
It's truly breathtaking in person. Subtle reds, pinks and subtle tones of raspberry, watermelon, pale sage with accents of sepia within the foliage and branches on an off white ground that translates to a pale grey or greige tone.
This is a wonderfully faded textile with subtle tones. With some slubs and nubs.
Inherent for a textile of this age. This textile is in'as found' condition, unwashed. No large hole or tears, some random tiny holes when held to the light but not many. The ground has some peppered foxing in areas, some darker then others and some very light that blend in with the pale greyish ground, some small spots in random places, a teastain and a grey paint spot on the edge shown in the last photo.
