French antique quilt c 1870 faded floral design antique textile shabby chic

  

Hello and thank you for looking. This antique French quilt dates c 1850. The red floral side is c 1850 but the backing fabric (small scale Provencal is c 1830).

This quilt is all hand stitched and hand quilted. I love the two sides , each and I adore the way they look together.

Would be lovely on a bed turned down to peek at the backside! There is a cotton batting between the layers. MEASUREMENTS 77 inches by 71 inches. This quilt is in as found, not freshly laundered condition with light storage dust. Some collectors prefer to do the laundering themselves, so I've left this as found. There is some damage along the edges quite normal for these antique quilts. There are a few small holes on each side of the fabric.
