Vintage wool blend THIN pile woven RUG circa mid 1900's - this is HUGE and I had to take a few pics of the rug in the garden as you can see, it totally swamped my work room - I will need to fold this to enable posting, any fold creases should and would fall out once the rug has been laid on a flat surface for a while. Please kindly note that whilst this is by no means new nor nearly new, it is NOT offensive in smells nor will it need immediate cleaning, BUT you are reminded that whilst this is still the case, in the current health climate, it is advisable to treat/clean USED and homed elsewhere fabrics and textiles BEFORE introducing them into your own home. A few light surface marks dotted around - nothing ground in and most are dust that look more than likely to lift once treated/clean. Some surface dust to the edges of the rug. There is a subtle colour difference to the edges of the rug - sun fade but not sun bleach. The reverse is also in impeccable shape, no marks, no wear to the binding strip etc. No wear nor thinning of the the pile AT ALL.

Classical woven pattern called Aubusson after the region in France where such pattern was born - lots of fanciful swirls, a proud central cartouche of rose bouquets with fanciful scrolls and swirls around the borders of the rug - Perfect for that Victorian/traditional themed space. Elegant colour palette of old golds, pale greys, biscuits and ivories along with accents of muted reds and coppers.

Unusual shape being that it is more'square' than elongated rectangle and true to form being authentic Aubusson as the rug is NOT perfectly angled at all. 346 cm x 245 cm or 136.2 inches x 96.4 inches respectively. Polite notice on the products that I sell - please take the time to read this before entering into a sale with me as it will save us both a lot of heartache later on. The mass proportion of what I sell are "one offs" and will almost always have had been pre-owned and homed/used elsewhere; thus by their very nature will exhibit inconspicuous signs to indicate their previous life. Any significant markings, stains, blemishes, rips etc etc will always be highlighted and more than often will be accompanied by a picture of the offender(s), therefore take the time to EXAMINE all the pictures.

In the interests of hygiene please ensure that you have accounted for the need to have such items washed/cleaned/freshened before using. The cleaning costs is NOT my responsibility and again, this is a cost that you should factor when purchasing SECOND HAND or PRE-OWNED products.
